A free workshop for A-Level Maths students.
A free 60-minute workshop exploring how the mathematics students are studying now connects to real problems in engineering, biology and technology.
Students are introduced to how core A-Level concepts develop into university-level mathematical thinking before working collaboratively on an engineering problem adapted to be accessible to A-Level students.
The workshop focuses on reasoning, discussion and problem-solving rather than advanced calculations.
The workshop is designed for A-Level Maths students with an interest in STEM.

Mathematics Beyond A-Level
A brief introduction to how mathematical thinking changes at university, with a focus on reasoning, assumptions, problem-solving and justification.
Mathematics in Biology and Technology
Short, accessible examples showing how mathematics is used to model the spread of disease and exploring some of the mathematical ideas behind modern artificial intelligence.
Engineering Problem-Solving
A guided engineering problem adapted for A-Level students, with time for students to work through the ideas in pairs or small groups.
University Pathways
An introduction to university STEM courses, the mathematical skills involved and how students can begin preparing for further study.
